On site, everything revolves around teamwork – and that’s especially true for the duo of project manager Kristof and assistant project manager Linus. Together, they perfectly illustrate how experience and fresh energy reinforce one another at BESIX Infra.

“At first, there’s a lot to take in, but it’s incredibly fascinating,” says Linus, who joined BESIX Infra as an assistant project manager in March. After several internships and summer jobs in construction, he knew for sure: road construction was his thing.
“You’re outdoors, building something tangible, and constantly interacting with people – that’s what really attracts me.”

Kristof has been working in road construction since 2006 and now shares his expertise with the next generation.
“Linus is doing really well – he’s eager to learn and asks the right questions. I give him the freedom to explore things on his own, but step in when needed. That’s the only way to truly master the trade.”

At BESIX Infra, newcomers like Linus are involved on site from day one – not just to put theory into practice, but to truly understand the full construction process, from planning to execution.
“At school, you mostly learn general civil engineering, but not much about road construction in practice. Here, I’m learning everything directly in the field.”
Kristof adds: “You can’t learn this trade from behind a desk. You need to see it, feel it, and think along. And above all: learn by doing.”

The collaboration between senior and junior proves to be invaluable.
“Projects are getting larger and more complex. As a junior, you learn much faster when working alongside someone with experience. You don’t just pick up the technical know-how, but also learn how to lead a team and keep the bigger picture in view,” Kristof explains.

For Linus, it’s the perfect start to his career:
“I wanted a strong development journey, and I’ve found it here. I feel I can grow at BESIX Infra. The guidance, the hands-on experience, and the open culture really make the difference.”
