1500 tonnes of milled asphalt loaded onto a vessel in Burcht in just three hours

At the concrete and recycling site in Burcht, 1,500 tonnes of tar-containing milled asphalt were recently loaded onto a vessel in only three hours. The material is heading to the Netherlands, where it will be further processed by a specialised recycling company. For this operation, a mobile conveyor belt was used for the first time, combined with two wheel loaders supplying the material. This setup made it possible to organise the loading process more efficiently and to fully load the vessel in a short amount of time.

Smarter logistics at the recycling site

The combination of the conveyor belt and wheel loaders ensured a smooth and continuous flow of material onto the vessel. By loading directly onto the ship via water transport, approximately 60 truck journeys were avoided.

It demonstrates how relatively simple adjustments in site organisation can make a clear difference in efficiency and logistics.
