This partnership means that BESIX Group will support the men’s national A team in three major upcoming tournaments, in particular: the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the 2020 European Championships to be held in 13 European cities, and finally the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. We will also stand beside the Belgian Red Flames during the qualifying campaign for the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France, and the U21s who are trying to qualify for the Euro 2019 in Italy.
This partnership will lead in particular to exclusive opportunities and campaigns for clients and employees of BESIX Group.
Rik Vandenberghe, CEO of BESIX Group: “Linking up with the various national football teams makes sense for two reasons: firstly because, as a Belgian group, like many of our fellow countrymen and women, we’re passionate supporters of these fantastic teams. Secondly, we share some obvious aspects with them: strong local roots and an impressive international reach. Besides being highly active in the Benelux market, we also have an extensive presence and strong reputation abroad, especially in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, where we built the Khalifa International and Al Wakrah stadiums. Finally, the respect, discipline, passion and determination to push themselves to the limits demonstrated by these athletes during each match are also among our core values, in all of our projects. Naturally, thanks to this partnership, we hope to have the honour of seeing our players win one – or more – international tournaments!”
Koen De Brabander, Secretary General of the URBSFA/KBVB, is pleased with the future partnership with BESIX Group: “We’re delighted to welcome as a new main sponsor another Belgian company that is well-established internationally. This demonstrates once more the attraction of our Federation and our football, and we’re confident that the partnership we’re about to build with BESIX Group will further strengthen the foundations of our football.”
