2003

In the same year, Heijmans Infra was merged with the Infrastructure department of Algemene Ondernemingen in Bilzen. The company was now engaged in road construction, water treatment, the laying of rail and tram tracks, and the production of bituminous products and asphalt.

In February 2017 , the Heijmans Group reviewed its strategy and shifted its focus back to the Netherlands. This included selling all the shares in its Belgian companies Heijmans Bouw, Heijmans Infra, Belasco and Van den Berg to BESIX, the largest Belgian group in the construction industry.

Who is BESIX Group?

It was a new start which will only strengthen the existing structure and continue the ongoing growth trend for the ‘newly’ established Belgian figures in the world of construction: BESIX Infra, Van den Berg and Belasco.
