Project Dilbeek, Belgium

Dansaert Park

From meadow to shopping centre

Dilbeek is one of the largest municipalities in Vlaams-Brabant. Nevertheless, the number of shops is one of the lowest in the province. The new shopping and business park ‘Dansaert Park’ in Groot Bijgaarden, near the Brussels ring road, will soon offer a good mixture of large chain stores and fast food restaurants and space for smaller, local businesses.

Out of nowhere

A shopping park of 8500 square metres and a business centre of 7116 square metres are being built on a meadow. All earthworks, sewers and roads are being carried out by BESIX Infra. Using the most modern machines, the open terrain is being transformed into a work and meeting place for residents and visitors.

Shop till you drop

The 41,000 inhabitants of Dilbeek will be able to indulge themselves in seven well-known retail chains, including Ava, Hunkemöller and Zeb, a McDonald's drive-in, Pizza Hut and a branch of Jims fitness chain.

Magnet

Two commercial buildings with a total of 35 units for small and medium-sized businesses, each with a parking space (104 parking spaces in total), are a magnet for the local economy. Several units have been sold, including to a chocolatier and a garden company.

Plenty of space

Cars and bikes can easily be parked at the shopping centre. Parking is provided with 225 parking spaces for cars and three bicycle sheds. In addition, a Park & Ride car park with 55 car parking spaces will be built on both sites.

Traffic flow

During construction, a parking attendant ensures clear communication about the parking facilities and a good flow of incoming and outgoing traffic.
