Rik Vandenberghe, CEO of BESIX Group: "Following the acquisition of Van den Berg last April (via the acquisition of the Belgian operations of the Heijmans Group), through this take-over BESIX Group has once again demonstrated its ambition to strengthen its position within the Belgian market in cable and pipeline construction, with important applications for the energy, water and telecom sectors commissioned by the major national and regional players. The strong growth in data traffic, investments in tram and railway infrastructure and the various expansion projects in the utility sector mean that prospects are favourable.”
Jean Polet, General Manager BESIX Contracting Europe: “Having evolved significantly into a project organisation over the past few years, Van den Berg is now - via the take-over of Larabo - in an even better position to offer a total package of services for our clients in the utility sectors.”
René Marnef, General Manager of Van den Berg: "Larabo will become a 100% subsidiary of Van den Berg but will continue to operate independently from Zele under its own name. The Raemdonck family will also continue to be actively involved and to build on the continued growth of the company together with Van den Berg."
